 About The Book  

The book entitled ‘Pharmaceutical Engineering’ was introduced by us in 2001. The 2nd edition of pharmaceutical engineering was available in two volumes (I and II), in tune with the syllabi prescribed by several universities in two semesters and on the lines of syllabus prescribed by AICTE.

    This 3rd edition, however, is framed as per the prescribed syllabus of the Pharmacy Council of India (vide no. 6, 7 and 8 of Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) course regulations 2014. The syllabus comprises of 14 chapters—Industrial Processing & Basic Principles, Flow of Fluids, Size Reduction, Size Separation, Flow of Heat, Evaporation, Distillation, Drying, Mixing, Filtration, Centrifugation, Materials of Construction, Corrosion and Transportation of Solids.

   Special emphasis is on:
          1. Application of principles
          2. A number of illustrations on the lines of concept mapping
