 About The Book

Every pharmacist is supposed to be acquainted with the law relating to drugs and pharmaceuticals, and his profession.

Salient features of the Eight edition include the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Policy, 2012 and Drugs (Price Control) Order 2013, Schedule L1 (GLP), Schedule H1 (Clinical trials), the Trade Marks Act, 1999 and Competition Act, 2002. In addition the subject matter in different chapters has been updated with recent amendments. The Consumer Protection Act, and Right to Information Act are the new legislation relevant to practicing pharmacist. The legislations like The Industries (Development and Regulation) Act, The Factories Act etc. were included. The general principles of Torts and Contract Act have also been included. These aspects although not included in the syllabi of most pharmacy courses yet are much useful even in day-to-day life.

In view of the recent changes in the Patents Act and its increasing importance in post-GATT scenario, the subject matter has been treated in detail as a separate chapter. A new chapter on the Consumer Protection Act has been added.
