About The Book
The present textbook on Herbal Drug Technology, is based on the curriculum of Pharmacy as prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India and caters to VI semester students of Bachelor course in Pharmacy. The present book contains six chapters and sixteen experiments.
The first chapter explains role of herbal raw materials in herbal drug preparations and also focusses on biodynamic agriculture. The second chapter deals with the Indian systems of medicines and different ayurvedic formulations. Third chapter explains the use of different nutraceuticals in various diseases. The different interactions related with herbs are also explained. The fourth chapter includes herbal excipients and raw materials used in herbal cosmetic formulation along with herbal formulation. Fifth chapter provides the information on WHO & ICH guidelines for the assessment of herbal drugs along with patenting and regulatory requirements of natural products. The last chapter deals with the good manufacturing practice of Indian systems of medicine.
